Equipment, aids and advice

If you require equipment/aids in your home (e.g. rails, shower seat etc) then you can contact your local social services department.

Benefits

You may be entitled to benefits such as Personal Independence Payment (PIP) (formerly Disability Living Allowance) if you need help with mobility and/or care.  This has nothing to do with other benefits or income/savings.

‘Employment and Support Allowance’ (ESA) - previously called Incapacity Benefit, is for people too unwell to work.  If a medical assessment deems you eligible for the benefit but you have not paid enough National Insurance Contributions to receive it, these may be paid for you.
